Thought For The Day- Is God’s Position Vacant

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”-God. Psalms 46:10 NKJV.

If you have ever been in the job market at any point in time in your life the following phrases should sound and look familiar; now hiring, immediate opening, help wanted. These phrases though different, express the same thing, job opportunity. If you were in the market for a job, you would most likely read on to see what the position is and what qualifications are required to be considered for the position. Some qualifications are very detailed, while some are vague, for the purpose of this blog we will stick to the detailed job qualifications.

In all my years, I have never seen a job posting like the one I am about to layout; Immediate opening, Creator of heaven and earth. Candidate must have over two thousand years of ruling heaven and earth and must be skilled in dealing with angels and humans effectively. Candidate must have excellent conflict resolution skills as it relates to humans. The ideal candidate must have the ability to answer prayers on time every time. The ideal candidate must also possess the ability to be everywhere at the same time, some traveling is involved. The candidate is required to have extreme patience while being just and merciful at the same time. The ideal candidate for this position must be willing to sacrifice their only offspring to save the souls of humans from perishing. Furthermore, this candidate must possess supernatural abilities to heal the sick, cure all manner of diseases, raise the dead, make the blind see and much more. The typical hours for this position are 24/7, 365 days a year, no paid vacation and no 401k. The candidate will be paid in praise and worship only, no other compensation will be given. If you believe you are the ideal candidate for this position, send your resume and cover letter to heaven.

The point I am trying to make with all this is that we as humans sometimes want to be God and some think they can do a better job than God. Still not following? Have you ever prayed to God for help with a problem and then proceed to try to solve that same problem yourself? I have, of course at the time it didn’t occur to me that I was trying to take God’s place, I thought I was doing what was required of me. God knows everything about us, our hurt, our pain and he knows exactly what we need when we need it. He does not need our help to help us, to be honest, most times we just get in His way and slow the process down. When you pray to God for help, trust Him after all, God said He will help us, Isiah 41:10 NKJV. God is more than capable of doing all the heavy lifting, we must be still and know that He is God.

God’s position is not vacant, nor will it ever be. The above job description of God’s position are some of the awesome qualities of the God that we serve and that was a shortlist. When we outline the characteristics of our mighty God, it should make us realize that being God is no small task and for that reason, we should let God be God because there is no other like Him. These are Julien’s thoughts and what’s on his mind.
