Thought For The Day- Are You Tired And Hurt

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Jesus. Matthew 11:28 NKJV.

A lot of things make us tired and sometimes there is some hurt that comes with been tired. I understand that work (our occupation) can make us tired at the end of a single day. Some jobs are a little more physical that others and you could also hurt in addition to being tired. However, the kind of tired and hurt I am talking about are emotional.

People hurt in many ways and we all deal with it differently. Some of us deal with it better than others. Some ways are more harmful to us and the ones that care about us, and we sometimes choose this route because we think they don’t care or understand what we are going through. I promise you that there is nothing you are going through right now, that somebody else in this world has not experienced. Some have even overcome and came out stronger. Unfortunately, though, sometimes these people are not around us, so we think we are alone.

One of the worst kinds of emotional hurt is the feeling that no one loves you and no one cares about you. This kind of emotional hurt is a little harder to heal especially in the world we live in today. For a long time in my life, I felt like this until the day I was introduced to Jesus and slowly but surely, I was healed. Now, I know that there are people who love me for who I am, am not perfect, I make mistakes, I don’t always get it right, but they love me, and I can be myself around them. Am not talking about a hundred of even fifty people, this is a small group that I can probably count on my hands and feet and I am perfectly fine with that. I would rather be surrounded by two or three people who love me and truly care for me than by a hundred people who barely even know me. This is however not what gives me unspeakable joy, no, that would be the fact that God, our Heavenly Father through Christ Jesus loves us unconditionally and nothing, can ever separate us from his love. Romans 8:38 & 39 NKJV.

The love of God heals all manner of emotional hurt and even when we get tired of being and feeling hurt. God is the only one that has promised us that he will never leave us nor forsake us, Hebrews 13:5 NKJV, and we know that it is impossible for God to lie, Hebrews 6:18 NKJV. Jesus in the above passage has his arms open to embrace you and take your burden of hurt, pain and being tired and replace it with his love and peace. Go to him today accept his love like I did many years ago and experience this unspeakable joy that I feel. These are Julien’s thoughts and what’s on his mind.
