Thought For The Day- Can You Handle The Truth

“Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?” Galatians 4: 16 NKJV.

Not to sound like a line from a movie but can you handle the truth? Many people want the truth when they ask you a question. Even as children, we were always encouraged to tell the truth and by telling the truth, we were less likely to get into trouble. In the above verse, Apostle Paul wrote this to the disciples in Galatia about some of their conduct and apparently, they did not receive the truth very well.

The ultimate truth is that Jesus is the only way to get to God, our father and our creator, John 14:6 NKJV. Anyone that tells you that there are many ways to get to God is simply not telling the truth. I have had people challenge me on this so many times because they believe in other “things” and I simply ask them a two-part question. When you have nowhere else to turn and you feel like your very life hangs in the balance, who is the first one you think to call, and do they answer you when you call? If it’s not the one whom you claim to believe in, maybe you don’t really believe in “them.” I can answer you for a fact that every time I called on the name of Jesus when I had those moments, he came to my rescue even, when I backslid and thought I fell too far from his grace, he remained faithful. This is the ultimate truth and it’s my truth and I am sticking with him.

Regardless of how people may receive the above truth or any other truth, do not let that deter you from always speaking the truth. While there are some that would regard you as an enemy because they can’t handle the truth, there will be others that will appreciate and respect you for telling the truth.  However, be compassionate while telling the truth, speaking the truth does not give you a pass to be rude or disrespectful. Like my wife once said to me, “its’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.” Is there someone you need to share the truth with today? Remember, later is not a guarantee and tomorrow is not promised. These are Julien’s thoughts and what’s on his mind.
