“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.” John 3: 18 NKJV.
The first definition of condemned according to Google is, “Sentenced to a particular punishment, especially death.” The second definition of condemned according to Google is, “Officially declared unfit for use.” In either the first or second definition, the word condemned is not pretty. The sad truth is that most of us battle some form of condemnation every day of our lives. Some think there is no hope and others are simply trying to find hope. Either way be of good cheer because Jesus did not come to condemn you, he came to save you from condemnation John 3: 17 NKJV.
In the bible, there was a woman who was caught in the very act of adultery and she was taken to Jesus for judgement. The people who took her to Jesus told him that Moses told them to stone such a person to death. Jesus really didn’t give them much attention and without even looking at them he said, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” When Jesus finally looked up the woman was standing there by herself and Jesus asked where her accusers were and asked if any one of them had condemned her and she said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” John 8: 3-11, NKJV.
What Jesus said to this woman is the same thing he is saying to you today. No matter who wants you condemned, or who has condemned you, Jesus is saying I do not condemn you I just want you to stop sinning and come follow me. The problem with most people is that we value and think highly of what the world, (our families, friends, co-workers and even strangers) say and think about us than what God is saying to us. God does not want to sentence you to death, that’s why he sent his son to die for you, all he asks in return is that you believe in his son and keep his commandments and abundant life belongs to you. Sadly, a lot of people have chosen not to believe in the name of Jesus and have thereby sentenced themselves to death. If you are not walking with Jesus, you are a walking dead.
