Thought For The Day- Do You Believe

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23 NKJV.

According to Google, one of the definition of believe is; accept (something) as true; feel sure of the truth of. This is what Jesus meant in the above verse. Because of what we have been taught in today’s society most people would say that this statement does not hold true. Some people might even make fun and go as far as saying, “if you believe you can fly, go jump off the Empire state building and see what happens.” While others may laugh and mock me for saying this, which most people have, to those people and to everyone else, I say this; when was the last time you truly honestly believed something, anything. The truth is that we mock things we do not understand and we fear things that does not fit into what we consider normal. I believe in Jesus Christ wholeheartedly and if he says all things are possible, then I believe it. The difference with me is, instead of making a mockery, I try to understand what it truly means to believe and apply that to my everyday life.

To truly believe anything, you have to eliminate all fears, doubts and disbelief. This is a little harder to do because of what we hear from other people and sometimes what we see and what we sometimes consider to be facts. If you want to believe you have to reeducate yourself through the word of God and silence every other voice, yes, even yours, the one in your head. This is why the Bible also says “we walk by faith not by sight.”II Corinthians 5:7. I have studied the Bible long enough to tell you that most of what we are taught to believe in this world is a direct contrast to what God wants us to believe and asks us to do. This is why Jesus came to earth to let us know that if we repent, we can become citizens of the Kingdom of God where all things are possible if you just believe. God bless you all. These are Julien’s thoughts and what’s on his mind.
