Thought For The Day- Who Are You Trying To Please

“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10 NJKV.

Throughout our lives whether we want to admit it or not, it seems like we are always trying to please or impress somebody.  I myself have fallen victim of this, which is why I am blogging about it. I used to try to please everyone in my life, family and friends alike. I found out that the more I tried to please everyone and make everyone happy I never felt happy myself and I also discovered that some of  the people I tired so hard to please did not reciprocate the same attitude. Someone told me I should only try to please myself and not worry about other people. I tried this and also discovered that even that, did not make me happy or feel better about myself. I felt cold and distant to everyone. Then one day torn between pleasing everyone and pleasing myself, I cried out to God for help and I found the above scripture.

It is impossible to please man and by man I mean people in general male, female of all races. Because the feeling and moods of people change like the weather. don’t fall into the trap of pleasing men or even yourself.  Yes, its a trap,it’s one of the devil’s favorite way of keeping you depressed and that can lead to a lot of health issues down the line. Instead aim to please God and God alone and in doing so you will be a much happier person. Now let me be clear am not saying to you to dislike anyone, God is love and whosoever loves is of God and the greatest commandment Jesus gave is to love one another as he loves us (unconditionally). If you keep the commandments of Jesus those who are in Christ will love you back and those who are in the world may dislike or even hate you. If the world hates you then blessed are you, for the bible says in James 4:4 NKJV that friendship with the world is enmity with God. In my life experience I would rather please God than be a friend of the world. Choose Jesus today aim to please him and in doing so you will please God and your life will be more purposeful. These are Julien’s thoughts and what’s on his mind.
